Yes, this is the moment we have been waiting for, and you have too, whether you knew it or not.

The greatest moment in Beat history.

It may sound incredible to you, but there are still people surfing the net on dial-up.

So while yes, it’s very cool to just link to some video (mostly of poor quality and horribly inefficent cutting) it’s not yet a complete substitute for actually saying something of substance.

I’m going to assume you met Mr. Butler, since the vid doesn’t work for me. Oh my–you weren’t the woman who asked if she could hug him, were you? :-)

  3. Bruce Says:

She didn’t ask for a hug, at least not on camera! ;)

If you are having trouble watching it, you can also see it here: http://community.divx.com/movies/details.php?id=623

  4. Michelle Says:

The videos look funny because the dimensions are off. Did the person who embedded this set the dimensions correctly? It should be 640×352 or something that equals that in proportion.

This is a code generator that may help:

If you get it running, double click on the little video window, and it should show up full screen in the right aspect ratio.

Congrats, Heidi! You did a fine job of keeping your cool under the circumstances.

  6. Hector Lima Says:

    no youtubery?

  7. Brian Spence Says:

I got it working. Looks like the Beat is being sponsored by Divx?? Man, Heidi, you’re blog’s really hitting the big time.

One pain with the video is that I watched it fullscreen, and when the video ended, it wouldn’t let me back to my desktop. It forced me to follow the link to the Divx player download, which is just annoying.

Small gripes. This was GREAT! I haven’t watched the other videos yet, so I’m off to do that…

  8. Bill Scurry Says:

Great format… I smelled the handsome wafting off the Scot.

  9. Heidi Meeley Says:

Damn. I am jealous for life.

Let me break it down for you:

    You rule!

Congrats on the great interview. The way you kept your composure and professionalism intact is an example for the rest of us to follow. Way to go!

  10. Jude Clark Says:

Wow, Heidi, is it hot in here??? Did you need a ciggie after that interview?

  11. Kathleen Pearlman Says:

divx will not work on my machine. Maybe it’s my browser (it’s a beta), but it makes it crash. No bad comments please…

  12. NewChad Says:

Yeah, I’m with the ‘it’snotbloodyworking’ people.

    Any chance of a YouTube?

  13. The Beat Says:

Hm, I’m still mobile, so can’t solve many of these issues. The links on the actual DiVX site work better than my own links, I’ll try to round them up.

I did screw up the dimensions of the videos on the pages here…trying to fix that but they keep crashin this computer.

  14. Cheryl Harris Says:

    Heidi,

What can I say? You rule!!

    Terribly, terribly envious here. :)

And dying to see this movie already.

  15. Alan Coil Says:

I’d love to the video, but I am on a slow dial-up. This is a 4-hour download for me.

So, maybe I’ll see it when you collect all your interviews in a dvd set.

  16. Alan Coil Says:

    Ooops. “…love to watch the…”

  17. Jeff Wong Says:

Whenever I’ve clicked on the links for the videos, IE6 has crashed. Using Firefox, I was able to begin viewing the vids, but, they stuttered and got stuck in a loop more often than not. Anyway, hi Heidi!
