In addition to the Best Books for Young Adults list, several other YALSA lists included graphic novels, notably the Quick Picks for Reluctant Young Adult Readers and Popular Paperbacks. For the latter, there are actually several themed lists (this year they include Get Creative, What’s So Funny?, I’m Not Making This Up, and Religion) - titles selected can be older, still-in-print titles (paperback only, of course).

The BIG list that is yet to be announced is the inaugural Great Graphic Novels for Teens list. A committee member posted to a librarian listserv that the list was turned in to ALA, and it should be posted sometime today. That list will be nothing but graphic novels.

Way to go Sean Murphy! Working on OFF ROAD was one of the greatest experiences I have had at Oni. Congrats! :D

  5. Hollis Says:

Randal: THANK you and everyone who helped Sean Murphy with Off Road- It was my nomination to the committee, and when I proudly tried to “sell” it to my committee, I found I needed to sell it very little. They loved it! YAY ONI!
