Hi, Heidi,
As one of the editors of the spanish edition of Stuck Rubber Baby I have to point out, as Sergio has done before, that SRB was published by Dolmen, not La Cúpula. They have published Wendel, also by Howard Cruse, so I guess that's the reason of your mistake.
The Astiberri guys are Javitxu and Fernando, good guys and good friends!

In defense of your supposed mistake concerning the Spanish/Catalan "issue" may I make a personal observation? Though I only spent a too short but very enjoyable three weeks inBarcelona, I did find that in general Catalan is preferred over Spanish. The signs in shops and on streets are indeed in both languages, but note that Catalan is always first. Asking for items in shops in Catalan gets friendlier service. Politics in the region, though not militantly separitist, definately favors devolution from the Central, dare I say more Spanish, central goverment.

Capitan Trueno is the local eqivalent of Prince Valiant ("Captain Thunder").

The Catalan/Spanish thing tends to be a sore/sensitive spot for some people. And "laugh at the ignorant american" is a prized and very popular pastime (which is funny, because if you've never been to a place before, how can you be expected to know the ins and outs of that culture? living in spain for the last three years, it's always amused/annoyed me. Criticizing a foreigner for his/her ignorance is so easy, as opposed to recognizing your own ignorance regarding other cultures. sorry, rant escaped me.)

i was at barcelona last year, and it looks like this year had a much bigger crowd.

"Anyway, I meant no offense, although several Spanish bloggers are having a field day with my mistakes."

To which I say:

" 'Why would anyone do this? you ask. Because in doing this, to the people around them, they can feel less threatened. They fear that if someone around them might appear smart at anytime, it might make them less of a human. In short, they would call you stupid, to make themselves look smart."

"I had a very cranky, bitter, insecure individual latch onto the fact that I was a poor speller, to take away credibility to some very strong arguments, I made against his bullying of others. I'll tell you right now that I have never been good at spelling. You may even find some errors in this post. The fact is, that I am dyslexic, which has made more trouble for me on this subject then I would like. Does this make my wit any less sharp? No. Some people don't do well in math. Some very smart people can only burn food. Albert Einstein couldn't change a tire, and his taxes were a complete mystery to him. My point is, that the thoughts that run through my head are none the duller, or tainted for my lack of nimble letter arraigning, so don't fall for that trick. I haven't."

Oh, and it looks like you had a fun time. Nice photos.
