Michael, are you saying we should accept the way things are because of the 'futility' of trying to change it?
To be honest I found the tone of your comment a little apologetic, not to mention defeatist.
Your 'clarifications' don't clarify anything to me, nor do they contribute anything useful to this over due and very important debate.
But perhaps your can clarify something tome: what do you mean with
Religiously, well, you take a look at most modern, major religions, and yes, of course they are male oriented.

Joss makes a good point here, but it's too emotional too get into clearly. He's really talking about a lot of things that need to be clarified:

1. Historically, there have been small groups of societies that were dominated by women, but they did not fare too well and what was known/percieved about them is that they were as strange and domineering in their cruelty as societies that were dominated by men.

2. Religiously, well, you take a look at most modern, major religions, and yes, of course they are male oriented. I don't know of one society still around that culturally, puts the female ahead of the male.

3. Culturally. I am proponent that when the people in a society are fed up with the way things are, they will revolt. In many of these countries, the rules and laws are usually upheld by the majority of people, women and men.

...............................

The gist of what he's saying is a sound one, that we need to change our ways in the treatment of women and this idealism is something to reach for, but he should realize that this rationale can only apply to societies like ours, 'free'. Democratic and capitalistic.

Even so, he should be able to realize the futility that lies there, because our society and the religions that we believe in are founded on the keystone that women are inferior to men.

I wanted to say something about Night of the Feminazis!!! Part ii but the site won't let me. I love women in just about every way a man can. Maybe that's not what every woman wants to hear from a man, but... I really like Brian Michael Bendis' take on Alies or the Beat or whatever it is they ended up having to call it. JJ, to me, seemed like a real woman. Heide, my friend Frank Kane and I are going to make a comic, I think you'll like, were women are as the ones we know, in real life. No more... no less. I think that's what you're asking for. Am I right?
