Those are very nice photos. It looks like you had a very good time.

  4. Blake Bell Says:

Hi Heidi. You’re correct with Carla Drmay. She’s the Development Director at the Max the Mutt Animation School here in Toronto.

Elim draws the best humanoid chickens.

And your last “A few views of the show floor” picture also includes (right off to the left) Ms. Girls With Slingshots herself, Danielle Corsetto (peering out from being the big green thing).

  5. Lea Says:

Man, that looks like fun. When I starting wanting to go to any con but CAPE! again, I’m making a run for the Great White North!

    Hi, Tara! LOVE THE HAIR!

  6. Lea Says:

Wait, it is just me, or does anyone else think Raina and Dave will always be so damn cute?

  7. Blake Bell Says:

I also think the first “Unknown” is Christine Norrie…

“The Women of Comics panel — we recognize Diana Tamblyn, Raina Telgemeier, Unknown, Tara McPherson, Svetlana Chmakova, Janet Heatherington, and Unknown.”

    Can’t pin down the last.

  8. Danny T Says:

The last “unknown” is Faith Erin Hicks.

  9. Raphe Cheli Says:

When I ran my convention in Chicago a few years ago, this was the type of comic convention I eventually wanted it to become. Looks like a ton of fun.

  10. Jamie Coville Says:

I was the Women in Comics panel (the back of my head is in the shot) and all the unknowns have been correctly identified.

  11. Blake Bell Says:

Part 2 of my report from the floor is up…

…which includes some interesting news, from the “Strangers in Paradise” Terry and Robyn Moore panel that I hosted, about Terry inking an exclusive deal with a big publisher to write two books and draw covers (and maybe more)…

  12. Darren J. Gendron Says:

On the second to the last photo, the big green guy is McPedro (hence the excited early posts), and you can make out Danielle’s head poking out from it.

[…] Blake Bell blogs from last weekend’s Toronto Comicon, as does Christopher Butcher; Heidi MacDonald has photos, BlogTO’s Matt Brown covered the Women of Comics II symposium, and Bryan Munn has a massive links round-up to further coverage (part one, part two). […]

  15. Brian Spence Says:

People who still stereotype comic creators should really look at those pictures. Nice, clean, smart, friendly people! Wish I was there!
