[...] Zuda Comics (ZC) ComixTalk posted these comments on DC’s soon-to-be launched web comics imprint, Zuda Comics (ZC). Now, as Heidi mentions, most creators seem to be concerned about what ownership rights creators will retain (if any) by submitting work to ZC. But I say let that be the creator’s decision. Once ZC publishes it’s terms of publication then we can all decide for ourselves. If creators don’t like the terms then they won’t go with them. And then when ZC doesn’t have the projected influx of creators they had planned on they will have to change their terms to accommodate the ownership needs of the type of creator they wanted to attract in the first place. But there is always the demographic that may not care about full ownership if it means that can get published in print and on the web. Most of the creators we know and love got to play with Marvel and DC’s toys before moving on to their creator owned works. Now I highly doubt DC/ZC will let unknowns play in the corporate property sandbox (i.e. Superman, Batman, etc.). But there will be those who will be willing to give up some ownership just to get their names out there. Which could ultimately make ZC a mere stepping stone for a fresh creator to launch his or her career. We will all just have to wait and see what information trickles out before the October launch.
This could be a great starting point for a lot of careers. ZC may have just found a low-cost, self-populating recruitment initiative?

Cameron asks what "Zuda" means.

Apparently it's "Zion Unda Demonik Attack", this according to the band Zuda. See also: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pageartist.cfm?bandID=254342

I hope this encourages some comics professionals to dust off their properties and publish on the web. Maybe something like Todd Dezago and Mike Weiringo's "Tellos" or Karl Kesel's "Section Zero" could find a home here. "Section Zero" could benefit from a web presence since its storytelling style emulated the one used by Milton Caniff.

Achewood typically isn't in all caps. In this particular strip, however, the characters are yelling.

Wait... let me get this straight...

The guy who is complaining about the "comic sans" font writes in ALL CAPS?!? Text in all caps is much more annoying to me than the "comic sans" font is.
