Murder at the Marriott?
This is definitely “not comics” as they say, but the San Diego Marriott has apparently been the site of a double murder:
Friday at around 7:45 p.m. Harbor Police received reports of multiple gun shots at the Marriott Hotel & Marina on 333 West Harbor Drive.
Police said the shots came from the seventh floor in the South Tower. Witnesses tell Police they heard screaming then multiple gun shots.
Nearby rooms were evacuated and San Diego Police along with Homicide took over the investigation. When police arrived, a man and a woman were found dead inside with gunshot wounds.

I was staying there the night it happened for the IDEA Fitness Convention. Apparently he killed the woman and then himself. I was three rooms across from them on the same floor.
