What a crazy day. It felt like a Saturday at times today. I'm terrified what it will be like two days from now.

A word of warning if you are standing in the pre-registration line, there were scammers working the line. They would come up asking for anyone who had one-day registrations, that ou could get in ahead of the actual line by registering with them. They had a bunch of preview night admission stickers which you have to actually look at closely to see were for preview night. They were collecting people's registration barcode sheetsn giving them the stickers and telling them they were good to go. Of coure, they were not. My friends got snared by this, ad though security was very understanding and professional, and my friends had extra printouts of their passes, it was definately a scam.

I have no idea what the point was. I presume they were collecting printouts to scalp to others on the sold out days as though they were valid one day registration sheets.

So, don't buy registrations from scalpers, they are probably stolen sheets from Thursday. And don't believe anyone who tells you that you can jump the line with a one day pass.

Scam, scam, scam! Pass it on!

Heh, though in looking back at my post the con has affected my spelling abilities. To quote Rorschach from Watchmen, "Hurrmm."

I'm not surprised, okay maybe a bit. This is the 10th year I've been exhibiting at Comic-Con and last night and today were insane. I've barely left my table and have been steadily doing sketches, catching up with people who come by and promoting new work. I'm having a great time, but Carolina (formerly of Bud Plant) and I just finished dinner and are relaxing in our hotel this evening (meaning she's finishing Potter and I doing sketches) to have a good night's sleep for the next three days. Yes, there were tons of networking opportunities and parties to attend but there will be parties the next two nights as well. Since we're based out of the San Francisco area, the "con" has always been good to us. We might be in the minority here but what the hell, we're in small press and we love it!

Given the size and difficulty of attending, I now treat SDCC as a Muslim treats the Haj.
As a networking event, it's going to be difficult, unless I corner a VP or editor after a panel.
Instead, this year I've attended NYCC, BookExpo, MoCCA, and plan on Baltimore and maybe SPX. Until I have something to promote, I'll probably avoid San Diego.

Oh my God. It was a crazy day. I didn't get anything done, because I could hardly move or hear myself think. I'm still having a great time though. Hope to catch you Saturday.
