The last 6 issues of Y have been published bi-monthly, which means a delay in the trade publication.

I like the Starman Omnibus as well. I plan on getting it and I hope DC uses that format to do new editions of Hitman and especially Transmetropolitan.

Disappointed there is no Absolute Justice yet (how is that not a cool title for a book). Given that the trades are just starting to come out, I guess it’s going to be Christmas ‘08 at the earliest before that *might* happen.

And I have no problem with Absolute Sandman coming out twice next year. I’d sooner it that way than having to wait until the fall of ‘09 to finish the collection. Although I am curious what will be collected in the last edition. Will it include stuff like the Dream Eaters or even the two Death mini-series?

I’m really encouraged that DC has the resolve to stick with reprinting the historical, yet off-the-beaten-path series. New volumes of Seven Soldiers of Victory and Doom Patrol are great news.

Selfishly, the STARMAN book makes me the most happy.

The LSH book seems pretty random collection of stuff, off the top of my head.

Love seeing OMAC as a collection.

DC will lose some money by not publishing the Black Dossier Absolute Edition before the HC (some readers will buy only one edition, and some will not wait for the trade paperback). It will also create some animosity among readers who will be forced to buy both the regular HC and the Absolute edition.

I am happy that Byrne’s WORLD series are being reprinted. I hope that DC will create a distinct trade dress for the three volumes plus The Man of Steel, and maybe even offer a slipcase for all four! (Or, better yet, an Absolute Man of Steel with all sorts of goodies in the back!)

As a retailer, I wish that DC would postpone the third volume of Absolute Sandman until next Fall. Shoppers are more likely to purchase expensive items like this then. I suspect that initial orders will be much smaller, since retailers will not expect big sales in the Spring, but will wait until the Holiday season to stock it deeper. Of course, the Spring and Holiday orders will probably be less than the Holiday orders for volume two, since bookstores order in anticipation of sales.

Good stuff! Can’t wait to sell it!
