i don't know why jimshelley is insulting rob zombie, he had nothing to do with this movie, which by the way, is awesome! it is strange you brought up rob zombie b/c this movie had the same feel (for me) as house of 1,000 corpses.

So noted. I won't try to speak for Jim or Chris (the creators) but I believe they were just looking to set their book's framing sequences in something other than the standard spooky mansion ala Tales from the Crypt and other horror anthology books of the past. Their book's host , who is something of a zombified hooker type, literally can remove her face. The comic's framing sequences are very tongue in cheek and comedic. I know the movie diverges some from the comic, so I can't say how it will be portrayed there.
Give it a shot. You might not care for it or you may dig it. A-rod's comment about a Tarantino film is close to the mark..I see it as akin to Rodriguez's "Planet Terror" half of Grindhouse.

Rich, no, I've not read the comic or seen the movie, but rather I am commenting on a trend I've seen relative to the quote in the article "total absence of smoking hot, faceless trailer-trash chicks in modern cinema" , the *title of the movie* and the picture above.

Jim,

I assume you've read the comic or seen the movie since you're commenting on the subject matter? I grew up in a rural area and did live in a trailer for a short period and I enjoy the book.

Alright, I don't want to sound like a neo Communist or anything, but I really dislike the trend of equating Trailer park people with Evil Inbred Monsters or whatever it is Rob Zombie (or other directors who have never rubbed shoulders with working class people)

There is something distinctly elitist and undermining about such wink wink allusions. Dorothy Allison, had a lot to say about this in a fantastic essay she wrote called White Trash.

Imperium formerly published my Furious Fist of the Drunken Monkey book. They haven't attracted much attention from comic related media sites and you may never have heard of them, but they've been cranking out the Trailer Park anthology title for almost 5 years now I believe.

The movie has gotten some attention from horror related site such as Fangoria's and the trailer looks pretty damn cool.

If you get a chance, check out the movie, and go pick up some of the comics too.
