I like the theory that's going around, that Locke was supposed to be the chosen one, but Ben "fell into it" instead.

Both Locke and Ben were born premature.

Both Locke and Ben grew up without their mother. Ben's died at child birth and Lock's mother rejected him.

When Locke (age 5) was tested by Richard, and failed, that's the year Ben was born.

When Locke rejected the science camp, his second opportunity, Ben and his father were going to the island.

Either Locke was supposed to be the chosen, or Ben was and Locke is going to usurp it and make a mess of things.

I thought the end of that episode was one of the best this season. Everyone expected that Christian was going to be apart of something, but what a curveball Claire was! Has she been apart of the mystry of the island from the begining? Although I doubt that because unless she is an oscar actress, I don't think anyone could've been able to pull off her naivity. So when did her status of innocent mother change into mysterious, creepy ghost-friend? I think this is a great twist and I can;t wait to see where it will go

good stuff Phil, there has been a lot of very similar theories to what you mentioned floating around the web lately. Especially now that you can draw even more parallels between Ben and Locke's lives.

Jin's scenes in "Ji Yeon" were when he was still working for Mr. Paik and not the flashforward that Sun had in the same episode. "Confirmed Dead" (about the freighter science team) was all flashbacks, as was "The Constant," "The Other Woman," and "Meet Kevin Johnson."

I don't think the Sun and Jin episode had any flashbacks.... they were all forwards shot in such a way as to make you think they were backs...

(unless I'm forgetting a single scene or two...)

Surprised that you didn't mention this was the first episode of the season that had a flashBACK and not a flashFORWARD.

Not 100% sure what that signifies, though...

Some news I'll throw in here, instead of making a new post.

17 episodes for the last two seasons of LOST, as expected after the WGA strike.

<<Was the comic book the same one Walt found in season one?>>

walt's comic was a spanish translation of a Flash/Green Lantern mini-series from the late 1990s.

Locke's comic was a 1950s (Atlas?) sci-fi book.

I think that Locke is somehow going to move the island to the point of the Black Rock. He is going to be the first 'other' or Jacob himself (remember the 'help me' line?).

I also think Ben is to Widmore as Locke is to Ben. That is to say that a destiny is up for grabs. In a way Ben was living Lockes' destiny and Widmore might just be trying to buy his way into that destiny.

I'm with Maija on the moving, I think it'll be moved in time rather than geographical location. Would be interesting if that turned out to be a hueg game changer.

Was the comic book the same one Walt found in season one? Either way, same idea. I think Walt's comic showed a city in a bubble being taken into space. I like how that came together after all this time.

Moving the island might explain why only six made it off -- the island might have moved before they could go back for the rest, which both saved those who remained and prevented them from being rescued. Looks like we'll see next week.

I think folks are wandering in and out of folds in space-time and that the cabin is some kind of nexus or wormhole.

What I want to know is how they're going to move the Island. I think they're going to move it to another time rather than geographical location. Or maybe both, if they can manipulate time in order to accelerate the movement of tectonic plates or something crazy.

I couldn't agree more Seth, it's very interactive in that way, which is something that isn't really present in most if any other show I can think of. It keeps you constantly guessing and theorizing as you watch it and just when you have stopped thinking about it, it's time for next week's episode. there are hundreds if not thousands of theories for every little thing floating about and each and every one sounds plausible as you read it. The game/rules are constantly changing and evolving. I love it.

Interesting theory too mark, that ALSO plays into Miles' line that I posted on above.

I like the theory that I read today that she died not in the explosion, but while asleep at the campsite (due to the nasty head wound).

Of course, where her body went to is also a question that would need answering.

this whole "claire dead?" thing brings up an interesting point about the show that i'm sure has been discussed ad nauseum, but i'm bringing it up again because that's how i roll: half the fun/frustration with the show is how we, the audience, learn the rules of how things work in "lost" as we go.
