As much as i like the Wheel of Time series it is really not suited for being made into comics, New Spring was quite short compared to the other novels, i could easily see it requiring 20-30 comics per book

[...] Dabel Brothers Publishing is going to adapt The Wheel of Time to comics, with the first issue coming out in December. Del Rey will release the collected editions. (via The Beat.) This is the same studio that did the New Spring adaptation a few years ago, an 8-issue miniseries that broke down 5 issues in due to conflicts with the series’ publisher, Red Eagle Entertainment.
Wow. I'm actually excited about this. The 5 issues they produced of New Spring (out of a planned 8) were incredible, and I was really disappointed to see it stop due to conflicts with their publisher (Red Eagle Entertainment, which gave me the impression of a fly-by-night company and earned the ire of Robert Jordan himself a few months before his death).

I hope they'll finish New Spring before they launch into the rest of the series. I know they'd at least produced artwork for the next issue.
