It's funny if you read DC, not if you work there. The joke is certainly at their expense. Meanwhile, count me as someone else who's glad that Grant Morrison's book ignored the editorial SNAFU that replicated Orion's death twice before Morrison did it in Final Crisis. Supposedly Grant told them Orion was dying in Final Crisis as the shocking opening, so DC did the logical thing and contradicted this opening by already killing him in two other books. Meanwhile, Grant had a witty reply to their goof by saying that such a cosmic and godly event could be seen a number of different ways. Ha. Always thinking that stinker.

That just goes to show you how tough Orion was. He was like the G*DDMN*D FREAKIN' TERMINATOR!!!

...only he was a good guy. :(

Imagine what's going to happen to Batman after the R.I.P. storyline... we'll find out he had to be killed way more times than that. He'll be like the Rasputin of the DCU! (Or maybe Dracula from the Hammer films.) ;)

Did everyone have a chance to read that Mad Magazine Watchmen parody they were handing out free at San Diego?

Some of it was a riot.

It’s funny if you think that Grant Morrison is aesthetically–no, morally–obligated to hitch his star to Countdown’s wagon, yeah.

No, it's still funny for some of us who think Grant Morrison ignoring Countdown is a feature, not a bug.

We’re told this is very funny if you read DC comics.

It makes you drop DC comics, if you read DC comics...
