After an hour or so spent with the nice Belkin helpdesk people, one of whom told me to call Apple, I fiddled with the password preferences and called another tech and got it solved. Basically, every time I have had a problem getting a Mac/PC airport/laptop combo to work -- either way -- it comes down to some kind of password problem. One is in ascii the other in hex, or something like that. I googled this problem and found endless frustrating references to resetting DHCP settings, ISP verification and other bollocks. Usually it's much simpler than that. OF COURSE it was the Belkin router! After an hour or so spent with the nice Belkin helpdesk people, one of whom told me to call Apple, I fiddled with the password preferences and called another tech and got it solved.
