I picked up one of those free "After Watchmen ... What's Next?" comics sampler. While I understand the point of the freebee... I don't get it. I thought the point of this is to get people interested in other collections that DC publishes. A bunch of titles are represented and each f them have several small thumbnail pages reprinted... which are unreadable!

I mean I can kind of read them using a lupe but doesn't that defeat the purpose? Why even bother reprinting the pages? If people liked Watchmen, I would presume that it was partly due to Alan Moore's writing. Why not give them 4 pages they can actually read? The giveaway fails for this very reason. Just my two cents.

To be fair, if you go out to AfterWatchmen.com you can download the first issue from the Saga of the Swamp Thing collection, the first issue of Planetary, previews of the Dark Knight Returns and Joker among several others but there's nothing for Killing Joke, All-Star Superman.

This seems like one of the better "how can we get movie-goers to read comics" promotions. Good for DC.
