That is horrifyingly beautiful. I’d love to see Baker’s take on him, post-spinach.

I think it looks amazing, but he made him look too old. It’s like a Popeye/Pappy mashup.

Of course he looks old, a lifetime at sea with the sun and wind will do that to you.

Creepy as hell! O.O
But I don’t think he would’a been so wrinkled? And I echo Ian’s post!

Can ears really be that big?

I agree, it looks amazing, but there are a couple of things that could be done to make it look more like Popeye, and less like an old sailor.
For one, he’s missing the wrong eye. Popeye’s Right eye is the one that’s missing.
Also, where is the famous chin cleft? That’s one of Popeye’s defining facial characteristics, and it’s completely missing here.
It may seem nitpicky, but its the details that really sell something.

That ain’t Popeye!!!!

Yeah I’m not liking that. He’s too old looking and more “3D animated cartoon” looking. How about this instead:

Link just incase the above doesn’t work:

Above is another take on “old Popeye” that might be more realistic.

If that’s Popeye, what does the Sea Hag look like?
Has anyone done a realistic Jeep?

how about Frank ‘Rocky’ Fiegel, the short tough guy E.C. Segar based Popeye upon?

Strictly for those who worship at the altar of pointlessness.
